Historic Buildings Adapted. Repair and re-use of old and often historic buildings forms a major part of the range projects undertaken by Robinson Thorne Architects. The careful alteration of existing buildings for contemporary uses provides specific challenges which always require a highly individual site specific and customised approach. Such an approach has been at the heart of the work undertaken by RTA over the last twenty five years.

The Professor's House, a sister to the Daubeny Building at Magdalen College, is also built over the historic wall surrounding the Oxford Botanic Gardens. Originally a Plant House, the building was extended and used in recent years as the College Bursary. Now renamed, the Professor's House has been converted throughout to provide graduate accommodation.
