The Church of St Alban, North Harrow, is the only church designed by architect, Arthur Kenyon, better known for his pioneering work as architect and town planner at Welwyn Garden City. His early use of reinforced concrete created a vast and impressively simple barrel vaulted church, which has been rightly described as a 'Jewel for Metroland'. Unfortunately, the use of asbestos based acoustic plaster led to a major internal refurbishment project to remove an renew finishes to the main barrel vault and side vaults.
