Woodlands Cottage, Nymans: Without even basic amenities, it was necessary to run new services over a mile through farmland and woodland to make the cottage habitable. The grey sandstone was probably dug from the small quarry hidden in the trees behind the cottage - unfortunately it lacks the usual warm brown tones of Wealden sandstone.
